When we/you, game, there is such a thing as matching/pairing, or whatever you want to call it. So basically, like Pavlov's dog, every time you pair a stimulus with your gaming, it won't only make you feel or think of gaming, but stacking stimuli will also make your gaming addiction even stronger.
This means, while you game, you may be: eating tasty snacks (chips, cake, food), smoking, vaping, getting high, drinking alcohol, chatting, going on your phone, listening to music, watching porn, surfing the web during queue times, and anything else. Hence, the more you compile things, the more fun, addictive, your sessions become.
Next time, when you game, if you can't quit cold turkey and replay your sessions with something different, try just gaming. And if you need to take a break to eat, go to the bathroom, see a friend or go for a walk, do it after or before your gaming sessions. Do not jam it all within your gaming sessions. This way, your gaming sessions may just be become plain game, and not stack of intense stimulation (e.g., dopamine).
Last thing, on the flip side, if you are trying to start new habits and seemingly healthier ones, those you can stack the hell out of, to make them as enjoyable as possible and helping your brain say "Hey, this isn't so bad. I'd to this again. Next time I think of this activity, I'll get excited rather than say fuck it, no way, maybe tomorrow".
Good luck,
J
